Altea

In Altea there are two distinct areas: one on the shores of the Mediterranean and, on the other hand, the old town. If we go into its narrow cobbled streets, we will be leaving aside the white houses full of colorful flowers and making way for hidden corners and viewpoints, until we reach the church of Nuestra Señora del Consuelo. An iconic old town that breathes history marked by the Muslims.

Highlights

If you are one of those who like adventure, do not miss the opportunity to take a kayak and paddle to one of the great treasures of Altea: the island of Olleta. It is an island located within the Natural Park of Serra Gelada and where archaeological remains from Roman times have been found. This island is not far from the coast, so you can get there without any problem. And if you are more into diving or snorkeling, its crystal clear waters are ideal for contemplating its wonderful seabed.

01

The beautiful old town of Altea has been able to preserve its traditional physiognomy. Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the old town of Altea, a white labyrinth of cobbled streets and winding staircases, unfolds organically on the side of a hill. Inside, small details abound, making this corner of authentic Mediterranean essence great: unexpected mosaics, ornate doors, and colorful flowers everywhere.

02

Much of the seafront of Altea is flanked by the promenade, a pleasant boulevard that starts from the port and runs parallel to its beaches for about 1 kilometer. Here we will find not only a huge number of restaurants and bars, specializing mainly in rice and seafood, but also numerous volleyball courts and children's swings located on the sand.
